Testimonial of Dr. John van der Tuin, FRCCO, September 2019
I am a blind Canadian Concert Organist, Organ Consultant and Composer. I have studied and performed in Canada, the USA, France and The Netherlands. I obtained the Bachelor of Music and Master of Music Degree from the University of Western Ontario in London Ontario. The Doctor of Musical Arts degree was obtained at the University of Michigan, studying with one of the greatest American Organists of the 20thCentury, Dr. Robert Glasgow.
In France, I studied with the great blind Concert Organist and Composer Jean Langlais, while I was still a teenager. Years later, I studied in the Netherlands with the great Concert Organist and Composer Piet Kee. However, being of Dutch descent, I was also a close follower of the great Dutch Concert Organist and Composer Feike Asma and met him and auditioned for him on various occasions.
In my concerts, I perform works of various styles and periods of history, but all of them being accessible to my audiences. In addition to organ, I often perform as a pianist and/or as a vocalist, accompanying myself on the piano, organ or with my own synthesizer arrangements. These vocal performances are sometimes of my own gospel songs and sometimes arrangements of sacred music of other composers and song writers.
I have been Organist and Choir Director at various churches, including a Music Director at St. Paul’s Unites Church in Paris, Ontario, where I recommended the purchase of a Content Cantate 346 Organ for the church as the pipe organ had too many expensive issues to make it feasible to repair. The church went with my recommendations and therefore, ended up with an organ that is bigger and more versatile than the previous pipe organ. Since then I have worked extremely hard with Mr. Bos to perfect the voicing of the organ which has paid off in the many compliments I have received about the instrument this year. I gave the inaugural concert on April 27, 2019. I played all four organs available in this instrument in this program, which was well received and enjoyed by all. Since then, I have put together a series of lunch time concerts in July, in which I performed along with three other colleagues who were impressed with the instrument. Personally, I am very familiar with the four European styles of organ building represented in this instrument. I appreciate the fact that Content Organs is the only company that provides a fully independent specification for each of the four organs in their instruments. Of all the church positions I have had, this Content Cantate 346 at St Paul’s United Church is easily the finest organ over which I have ever presided. I can perform a great deal of the organ repertoire and transcriptions of orchestral works with a greater amount of authenticity than would be possible on most pipe organs. In short, a fine instrument indeed.

Sound, sound and more great sound. That is how i sum up my new Content Cantate 346, which I received in June 2014. The quality and realism of this sounds just superb. The options in registration i now have available at my fingertips is unbelievable.
Regardless of ones taste in music, this experience will continue for years to come.
I am now in my third generation Content Organ and the Cantate 346 is by far the most enjoyable and rewarding organ I have owned. This is not to say that this model is the only good Content Organ. There are a variety of models available, all serving a unique purpose for different needs.
The service Klaas Bos provides is 'first class'. What i found most helpful in my dealings with him was tapping into his fast knowledge of what Content Organs are all about, its quality and technology and how to make use of it. He has built up a first class dealership who knows his product 100% and goes out of his way to help his future customers, but does not forget to assist his present customers.
I know i am going to enjoy every minute i play my Content Cantate 346, now and in the future.
